Welcome to Hot Sauce, a new series where I explore design trends that I'm loving. For the first installment of this series, I'm talking about a trend that I'm seeing all over the place these days, green marble.
Malachite has had its day and there's a new green in town. Marble is such a classic material and I've always loved the vein pattern and color varieties. The tricky thing with marble is that it's porous, so it can be difficult to have as primary material in places like kitchens and bathrooms. But...that doesn't make it any less beautiful. Green marble checks so many boxes for me: natural material, a jewel tone, unusual patterns, works in traditional and modern settings, AND it can pass as a neutral.
I was inspired to do this post because I started seeing green marble pop up in my Instagram mood boards and Pinterest. Trend spotting is something that I love to do and I predict that we will see a lot more of green marble in 2018. At #BKaptstory I have the trivet that you see above in green marble and look forward to finding new ways to incorporate it into my home. Below is my round up of green marble inspiration photos and I am dying over these pictures!
Green marble works as an accent or as the focal point of the room. If you are mixing materials, it pairs very well with warm-tone metals like gold, copper, and brass.
As always, I scour the internet for finds so that you don't have to! Here are options for green marble pieces that you can bring into your home. I love that this unique material is making a come back and is on trend again.
