Our new bedroom is starting to come together! It feels great to go into the new year having made at least a little bit of progress on this space. This room is nice and bright and I started my design on the side of the room that has two windows and gets the most light.
We reused things that we already have except for the new additions of this mirror from Design Within Reach and this a rug from my girl Kelly of Broomhill Antique Rugs. This room is a work in progress, but I want to share the design process with you from day one. We have been in our apartment for about two and a half months and the reality is that it will take over a year to fully decorate it. In the meantime, my strategy is to tackle small areas one at a time, so that the design process is more manageable.
Since some of our pieces are vintage or no longer available, I did my best to round up similar pieces so that you can get sauced! Below is a mood board and roundup up of products from our new bedroom.
I will note “similar” next to any piece that isn’t exactly the same as the one in our room.
Fun fact, I have never owned a full length mirror! I have been on the hunt for the perfect mirror for a while now and had my eye on this one from Design Within Reach for a while now. It is definitely more than I wanted to spend on a mirror, but when I saw it on super sale on Cyber Monday, I had to pull the trigger.
I believe in investing in high quality pieces that will easily work in any future home and this definitely fits into that category. This mirror will absolutely work in any home we move to in the future. As an added bonus, you don’t have to make holes in the wall to display it, which is perfect for us as renters.
I'm sure that this room will continue to evolve, but I am so happy with the way it is coming together. Let me know what you think of our bedroom so far in the comments below!
